CS Saddle blanket - Gettysburg provenance

From a photo that Brian White posted on Facebook. Part of a Confederate saddle blanket that was on a horse that was taken by a member of the 2nd Vermont Inf.

Hmmm, I'd like to see this but could not access it. All I got was that the "content was currently unavailable". Anyone else?

I think you have to be registered on facebook in order to access it. Another example of a coverlet used as a saddle blanket!

I am very curious to see this blanket but still cannot get through. Of course, I admit to being "social media" challenged (proudly so, actually!) so could someone perhaps, download a copy of this artifact for the rest of us poor, ancient, deluded, tech-neanderthals? ...or, am I the only one?

You might have to be "friends" with the poster to see his pictures. All depends on his settings.

Yea, I believe that he posted it on his wall which is private as opposed to his albums which are public... Someone with access could copy/save it and repost in in an A/C album, giving credit of course...

Sorry 'bout the link - my bad. Here's the photo, via Brian White, of the CS saddle blanket on a horse captured on July 3, 1863 at Gettysburg by a member of the 2nd. Vermont Inf.

Now that I look at it again I take back my coverlet statement. Looks too course. Almost looks like a rug or carpeting.

I agree Dan. It looks like the rag rugs the ladies here in town weave. It'd be great to get a really good up close look at it. I'm going to assume this is a piece and the rest (and original size) are lost to history...
