    Missouri Troops: 1865

Check out this offering from Mike Medhurst
    http://www.mikemedhurst.com

Missouri Troops in the Field 8 ˝” X 6” albumen of Missouri
troops. This fantastic view features more than fifty soldiers most
armed as well as a drummer and fifer. Tents are in the background.
On the back is written”...(first initials) Goff War Picture. Our camp
near Jefferson City, MO 1865.” Condition is a bit rough with a tack
hole in the top and miscellaneous specks and stains on the image. That
said, this is a rare trans Mississipi image.

    Regards,
    Mark Susnis

    Mark -

That is outstanding. Any way to get a higher definition copy put up? It would really be interesting to be able to inspect it in detail....

Really an incredible find, and thanks for putting it up!

Interesting pic, lots of forage caps on these westerners.....

I think this is a picture of Co. E of the 50th Missouri Infantry. CWSS lists 8 "Goff"s in Missouri Union Infantry units, two of whom served company E of the 50th, which was the only Missouri unit in the list to serve in-state for any length of time.

The listing has a bigger image, but still hard to see much details:

This fellow has perhaps the most obnoxious and largest cravat I have ever seen.
