This time a Yank with a rifle/saber bayonet fixed. Cap cover. Very dark hands too.

That's a "Mississippi" type rifle he's carrying isn't it...if not my apologies.
With that bayonet it could be an enfield to though

Another nice pic, Garrison. I suspect the "dark hands" come from them being browned or reddened due to exposure to the sun. I once tried to have my photo taken at an event after getting a bad sunburn but was dissuaded by the photographer after he told me that I would have a decidedly *ahem* "dusky" appearance.
