Sadly, a new semester is here which means I need books, which means some of the collection of eyeglasses has gotta be cleared out! But my loss is your gain!
I have four pairs of original eyeglasses for sale. All are in superb condition and each one of these four is different in one unique way or another! All glasses contain their original glass lenses, which are likewise undamaged and in relatively good condition. For those wanting to put their own prescription into a pair of original frames, these are perfect! Simply take the frames to your local optomotrist/glasses shop, explain you'd like to have your prescription filled in the glasses, and presto - now you look Civil War Kewl. All glasses have functional screws in them to allow the replacement of the lenses.
The four pairs of glasses are designated by A, B, C, and D. In correspondance, please refer to the different ones by their letter designation. I have provided links to the images to allow larger photos and more detail. If interested in a pair, please contact me by posting here, PM, or email at pieboy96@hotmail.com For payment, I can do Postal Money Order, or PayPal. If doing PayPal, please add $2 to cover their fees. Glasses ship immediately upon receiving the payment.
GLASSES "A" - SOLD!
GLASSES "B" - SOLD!
GLASSES "C"
A more common pair of glasses, made of silverish color steel. The arms are a little darker in color, possibly due to patina. These have the teardrop shaped ends on the arms, of course another characteristic common to CW period glasses. Hinges are in excellent condition, and lenses are virtually not scratched at all. Really a great example of common glasses! Length of arms is long at 5 3/8", and width of glasses is 4 1/4". Because these are a more common example of CW glasses, price is $70 shipping included.
GLASSES "D"
This pair is very similar to "C", however, they include a very unique feature which I haven't seen on other pairs before. On the bridge, it looks like there used to be some sort of rubber or some other material for more comfort on the nose. The metal of the bridge has a slit in it to allow the rubber (or whatever material it was) to secure in there. It looks like the material was on the part which set on the nose, but then continues into a groove in the top of the bridge. The material which would have set on the nose is unfortuantnly gone, but the material is still present in the groove on the top of the bridge. Very cool! See the detail images for closeups. Again, these are in superb condition, and have strong hinges. Arms have the teardrop shape at the end. Length of arms is 5 1/8", and width of glasses (temple to temple) is 4 1/4". Since these are a common style, yet have that extra cool feature, price is $75 shipping included.
