WTT: Cartridge Boxes
Ive got a Sharps Carbine style cartridge box from Don Smith that Im looking to trade for a 1839 pattern box. This was a new item from Don this year and is a really nice piece. I used the box at 1st Manassas and on Morgans Raid and thats it. This is based on an original and is all hand stiched with implement pouch and double set of tins. Don is offering two styles of this box. This box is the pre/early (1855-1865) type that has no added rivets on the belt loops for support. It also has a militia style cotton webbing sling made by Don. This set new cost me $175. The 39' pattern box would have to be made be a reputable maker. Like Don Smith, Tim Welch, or Bob Serio. There are other vendors Id consider.
*Note: Just incase you couldnt tell by the description this box isnt what youd picture as a "carbine" sized box. It is infact the size of an infantry pattern box.
