Coat/ Mantle Pattern

Hello Ladies,
For those of you who have made coats and mantles in the past. Does anyone have a pattern either commercially available or in a book that they can recommend. I tend to portray a working class to middle class women so I'm looking more for function than form (though, trying to be pretty and functional at the same time doesn't hurt does it ).

Thanks!

Re: Coat/ Mantle Pattern

Hello Miss Maggie!

I recently made the KayFig Ladies Paletot and really like it. It is somewhat fitted and can be trimmed up or down to suit your impression. Several of the ladies in my group have also lined it (not included in the pattern but fairly simple to do.) A simple sack style might be a better choice but give this one a look. The plus on this one is the original was completely machine sewn and top stitched and it goes together nicely and quickly.

Good Luck!
Sherry Key.

Re: Coat/ Mantle Pattern

I have used the KayFig paletote pattern. It works up great.
