  • Hats and Scarves for Fall/Winter Events

There are some terrific events coming up this fall and winter, which is predicted to be a cold one. If you're interested in warm woolen sleeping hats and tams, or scarves that will keep you toasty, get a quick email off to Chris Daley. At September Storm, I dropped off my fall supply to him and they are available immediately.

I've got pictures of them, but won't be able to post them until next week some time.

From memory, here are the descriptions of most of them:

Camp hats available (26, mostly stocking hats):

    Stocking hats:
    1. Light gray with dark red stripes.
    2. Dark blue with brown stripes.
    3. Light gray with blue stripes.
    4. Medium gray with blue stripes.
    5. Dark pea green with black stripes.
    6. Black with alternating thin blue and black stripes.
    7. Black with alternating thin red and black stripes.
    8. Dark maroon shoddy with gold tassle.
    9. Dark blue/green spun with flax to extend the wool (great for a Southern impression, as this would have been a period way to stretch the wool to make more stuff), dark gold tassle.
    10. Blue green with light brown stripes and tassle.
    11. Dark brown with red stripes and tassle.
    12. Black with blue and black mixed yarn (two of these).
    13. Black with brown and black mixed yarn.
    14. Dark blue bottome, two cream stripes, then lighter blue top.
    15. Dark green with maroon highlights (looks like a dark green with a little maroon shading to the color -- very Victorian yarn, I couldn't believe it when one of my suppliers sent me a sample), maroon tassle.

There are a bunch more but I can't remember all the color combinations.

    Tams:
    16. Dark green tam, with a ring of small oatmeal colored shamrocks knit into the top, green and oatmeal striped band.
    17. Dark green tam with light brown (almost tan) stripes.
    18. Dark green tam with reddish/brown stripes.
    19. Dark gray tam with blue triangles knit around the edge.

One or two more tams, but again, I can't remember all the color combinations.

    Hats are $70

    Scarves (25 available):
These are made of a very soft, but strong 100% wool. They are hand woven, 10 inches wide and over 5 feet long, so you'll have plenty of scarf to wrap around your ears and stop those pesky drafts down the back of your neck. Three colors: Dark blue, light blue and medium gray, and all have a short (about 3 inch) hand knotted fringe on the ends.

    Scarves are $50.

Act now while the selection is greatest -- when they're gone, they're gone.

If you want any of the above, the man to email is: tailor@cjdaley.com
