Could anyone help with the general location of Col. Van Manning's (3rd Arkansas) wounding near Devil's Den at Gettysburg? My thoughts are that he was near the old trolley line near the base of Weikert's triangular field.I believe he was wounded on the bridge of the nose from artillery shrapnel.
Also,any documentation of what he wore at Gettysburg? Slouch hat or kepi, frock coat,etc.
There's a photo of him that says it was taken while recovering in Richmond after the battle,but there's no noticeable wound on his face.Thanks!
