The US Field Artillery Museum Muzzle Loading Gun Detachment demonstrates the proper firing drill using a model 1841 6pdr Field Gun. This is the drill using t...

All, okay, this is a work in progress, but our intent is to develop a product demonstrating proper artillery drill per the drill with the M1841 6pdr using the 1861 Instructions for Artillery. It isn't perfect, we filmed 3 times, this is the best, but I still have found minor issues after watching it repeatedly. This is a very deliberate demonstration of the drill per the manual, we literally were standing there with the 1861 manual as we went through this even down to the fact that it directs No5 to sling the gunner's haversack over his left shoulder! This is for education and demonstration of how proper drill is to be done by the gun detachment in the US Army during the Civil War.

We plan to further refine it, and are discussing the opportunity to work with a professional to film it for us, who has a reputation for doing quality Civil War video.
