From North or South

Take Interstate 95 toward Fredericksburg
Take Exit 130-A onto State Route 3 East and proceed 2.9 miles (crossing under US Route 1)
Take right-hand exit onto US Route 17/State Route 2 South and proceed approximately 2.5 miles to the Slaughter Pen Farm site on the right – large open fields just beyond Shannon Airport


From the West

Take US Route 3 toward Fredericksburg
At the Interstate 95 interchange, continue straight, following Route 3 East and proceed 2.9 miles (crossing under US Route 1)
Take right-hand exit onto US Route 17/State Route 2 South and proceed approximately 2.5 miles to the Slaughter Pen Farm site on the right – large open fields just beyond Shannon Airport

Once you bump over the siding railroad tracks, and spot the dueling Valero and WaWa stores, pass the airport on the right (if you are heading south to Bowling Green), note the bigass propane tanks, and start looking for a typical gravel drive to a farmstead on the right (west) side of the road. If you get down to the spot where Pelham delayed the visiting army, then you've gone just a tad too far.

Brad,

I'll feel your pain when we redo the computer room in a few months. Dang near everything but the woodstove will be offline, and I'm not so sure if that will be operational.

While we were out piddling around today, I couldn't help but realize this piece of battlefield land was purchased in the nick of time, and for folks coming up from the south from Bowling Green, they may not recognize the place since there has been so much development. There is also some colonial era history here too, if the highway marker near the driveway is any indication.

The grid for the Shannon airport is Lat: N 3816.0 Long: W 07727.0. The Barn at ATB is about a click (1 Kilometer) south east.
