  • 4th Arkansas Looking for Strong Men

    Gentlemen,
The 4th Arkansas is looking for strong and hearty men to take part in the WIG hosted living history in March at the Pea Ridge National Battlefield Park. This is the first time the WIG has gone to Pea Ridge. It will recreate the split of Van Dorn's forces, one marching from north (McCulloch with the 4th Arkansas) and the other south (Missouri State Guard with Van Dorn). This event promises to offer scenarios and situations that we do not regularly encounter.

I will be commanding the company protraying the 4th Arkansas. Brian Hicks will be serving as our Lt and Herb Coats will be our Orderly Sgt. We would all appreciate any and all support from those wishing to attend this event. You do not have to be a WIG member to participate. If you are interested and would like more information please visit the event website at http://www.westernindependentgrays.org/pearidge08/

With less than two months till the event, you need to get registrations in soon.

Re: 4th Arkansas Looking for Strong Men

We know there are some folks in the Trans-Mississippi whom have lamented that there are to few events in their own back yard. Well... this is one at a site that many of us have never been to, and which we hope will greatly benefit by our coming out to do this program.

Folks from Wisconsin are coming down... other fellas from Georgia and Tennessee will be there. Let's make this a great event to start the season with.

I Hope that many of you fellas will commit to, and come on out for this event.

Tripp, if you've got room in the ol' Canyonero for a Tar Heel with intimate knowledge of the location of every liquor store between Atlanta and Arkansas, then I'd love to join you guys. That's a long haul for a lone driver.

        Peter,
I am sure we can make room. We will be setting up a carpool which will leave from the Atlanta area. You are welcome to meet up with us in Atlanta or somewhere along the way.
