  • 24th Missouri (US) company for Pickett's Mill

The 24th Missouri has recently voted on a 2014 unit schedule and the campaigner/immersion event at Pickett's Mill has made the list. Obviously we are not seeking to rain on anyone else's parade, nor draw men from other units. However it is practical that more than one company of federals will man our battalion, and as such the 24th Missouri hopes to form the cadre of one of those companies. Many of you have fallen into our ranks in the past, most recently at the BGA Gettysburg event with Will Eichler's 24th Michigan/1st Potomac Home Guard battalion, and again at Chickamauga portraying the 8th KS with the 1st Federal Division and Dom Dal Bello's 2nd Battalion of the FB. A detailed play by play of the formation of the 8th KS adjunct, along with a picture of that company, can be found at http://www.authentic-campaigner.com/...th-Chickamauga.

Those familiar with our unit know we operate as a close knit team, and bring a lot of years of experience to the table. Both Cal Kinzer and myself, as well as other unit members, served in Nate Petersburg's Federal company at the last Pickett's Mill event in 2004. Our unit website spells out our goals and expectations of events we attend, and also displays a portfolio of unit impressions at said events. The website can be found at www.24thmissouri.org

Any interested parties are encouraged to register with the company name Kinzer on the PM registration form, and also email Cal Kinzer directly at ckinzer@juno.com This will give Cal a rough headcount of numbers, and also gain the member access to our unit newsletter, The Skirmish Line, which gives detailed up to date progress of our operations. Here's to a successful year, and see you at The Mill.
