Well, it's 9:27am here and I'm forced to be quiet due to my wife still being asleep. I'm doing what I do in that situation, surfing the internet to any sane or insane destination it will take me. This morning brings me to Jimmy Stewart, and on this subject I was hoping to stimulate some interest.
In reading about this man from Indiana, PA., I discovered that both his grandfathers (or maybe great-grandfathers) served in the Civil War, and in one grandfather heroism is cited. I could do more searching myself, but thought that including the members of this august website would enable them to waste time alongside me. So, to that end:
Does anyone have any information on either or both of these veterans?
I don't need to know this; I'm just a guy on a Sunday morning trying to ignore the cleaning and final Christmas preparations that need to take place in my house. I'm hoping I can provide, through this thread, the same opportunity for any of you.
