  • In Stock: Collector Grade Rifles and Muskets

Every once in a while, a collection must be thinned of "never will sell" pieces to make way for new items, and so here we are! These rifles and muskets are our select pieces, and would make for excellent skirmishing pieces, living history, or display; or all three. So here we go!

    1. Union Arms Company m1861 Springfield Rifle: Excellent stock (possibly sanded at one point or simply never had inspector cartouches), good barrel, and a a sturdy piece by all accords. These are a rare contract piece as most were either never finished, rejected, or sold off to state armories. The Union Arms Company Springfields are an interesting story, and this one would fill multiple roles. $1950 shipped

    2. Wickham m1816 with Drum Bolster: wonderful stock with sharp features and inspection stamps. This piece was altered to drum bolster with civilian hammer. It could be assumed that this was a Confederate piece altered for the War, but according to George Moller, some of these were also sold off before the war and altered for civilian use. I can't say for certain, but it would fill a void for displaying m1816 conversions and CS used weapons. The drum is blocked, and I would NOT recommend trying to restore this to firing condition. This should stay on your mantle. $850 shipped

    3. Harpers Ferry 1832 Dated Hall rifle in immaculate condition. This rifle will shoot well, but we don't really know if it has been fired since it was altered to percussion for the Federal government. Sims a wonderful piece that looks brand new from the day it was altered to percussion. $3800 shipped

    4. m1854 Austrian Lorenz in .54, with the flip sight and cheekrest! The rarest version we've ever seen. Flip sight and .54 do nothe usually exist together, and having the cheetkrest makes it even more of an anomaly, but this piece is totally correct for production for the Austrian government! This is an extremely high end Lorenz and comes mates with a very good bayonet for $1825 shipped.

    5. m1816 Pomeroy Musket in near new condition: the milling marks are still present and visible in the barrel! Crisp stock markings, and we don't think this piece was ever used during the war. $2000 shipped or $2100 with matching bayonet

    6. "Potential" Virginia Manufactory Musket by Navy Arms: For about $325, Lodgewood could turn this into the perfect musket for early War Virginia troops! It was converted to drum bolster by Zimmerman, and never finished. I had intended to finish the project myself, but never did. If portraying Virginia troops is life, then this is the musket to have since they used tens of thousands of these early on in the war. $850 shipped
