  • Maryland Sutler - Brit Blue-Grey Kersey question

I'm trying to determine what the Maryland Sutler charges for his unfinished British blue-grey kersey. I've called and emailed, but as yet have not rec'd. a response--I s'pect he's out of town for the holidays or whatever. Anyone know the price of this fabric?

Thanks in advance for your kind assistance,
    A.

Re: Maryland Sutler - Brit Blue-Grey Kersey question

I paid $40/yard plus shipping for the last two yards I got a year or so ago. According to this thread all they have left now is the unfinished kersey.

I found that phone calls were the best way to get in touch the two times I ordered from them, but that wasn't 100% reliable, either.

    Hope this helps.

      Thanks, Dan!

As I said, I've left messages on their voicemail and have emailed as well. No worries. I just needed to know the retail price, as I dug out a large piece (11 yds) of the unfinished stuff I bought from Pat several years ago and as I'm never going to get around to the project I had in mind (imagine that!), I'm going to put it up for sale here later today. I had no idea what to ask for it. Again, many thanks, pard!

        KERSEY (Wool)
#K1 - 100% Wool, 58" wide. This is the fabric widely used for mid-late war Richmond and Charleston Depot garments. It also appears in imported Tait jackets, a couple of double breasted frock coats and at least one surviving great coat. $36.00

It's important to recognize that the current K1 Kersey from CC is more grey in color, and less blue. I cannot speak for the original poster, but it may be that they are looking for the bluer English Import cloth.
