  • Plowshare Forge Custom Knife!

Earlier this week I received an excellent reproduction Confederate d-guard from Dan Brock of Plowshare Forge and wanted to give him some praise! It's based on an original from the William Turner collection that was sold in 2006 by Heritage Auctions. The original is a massive 23" long with a hand-hammered iron guard and pipe-burned stippled wood handle. Mr. Brock's work is phenomenal and in my opinion very well detailed. I have to admit that I was laughing while taking it from the box and didn't put it down for several hours if that's any indication of how trilled I was (and still am!).

I too received a Dan Brock Bowie. It is funny Brian...I know that "OMG" chuckle you describe when unwrapping the knife. Mine is spot on to the oroginal "Yankee Slayer" he copied.

I'll post pics of mine when I can. Actually, I have another on the way for Garrett...when it arrives, I'll post pics of both.

Ok, got the second knife in. I sent Dan pics of two originals, and he nailed them.

These are some awsome looking knives. Are they available for purchase through the site provided or could anyone recommend a good authentic dealer?

When I saw this post in April I contacted Dan and comissioned him to make me a knife. Found one I liked (original) for $5,500+ and Dan made me one for considerably less. To bad I won't get to use it until the fall of 2012. Get with Dan if you want a great knife.
