  • British accouterments

I know when some enfields were imported, they were shipped with the english accouterments such as the cap box ball pouch cartridge box and bayonet and scabbard. But does anyone know if confederate or union soldiers actualy used the english style cap box and ball pouch ?

Good heavens David Burt and I wrote a book or two on this topic. It's not hard to find that information out, chapter & verse. Or look at some period images.

By the way I ordered and read both volumes of Unfinished Fight, and I enjoyed them immensely.

I highly recommend Craig's booklets - they are inexpensive and great reads. I think I've learned more about the material culture of the Civil War and Civil War small arms from his books than just about anything else.
