    Long time no post
So life has kept me occupied,
I'm starting construction on my confederate flagstaff. I decided to go with oak..I would have preferred cedar.. But not easily acquired... I need advice on the proper stain, if any was used...and what you all think would be a good finial. I've seen the traditional ( federal spade), spear, and a miniature Axe type...and just a pointed wooden end..any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Re: confederate flagstaff

Hi Kevin, I would start with a search on the forum. I don't quite remember how in depth it was, but I know there was a previous discussion on flag poles. There were even photographs of originals that are housed at the MOC in Appomattox.
You might also try contacting them directly for info or even doing a search on their website. I have found them to be VERY helpful when doing research.
Hope this helps, and best of luck with your reproduction!
