Great article! I have an interest in Mississippi as one great-grandfather, Henry P. Zinn, enlisted 1861 from Lafayette Co. in Co. K – Pegues Defenders – of the 22nd Mississippi Infantry Regiment. Another 2g-grandfather, A.P. Carriker, Enlisted in Co. D, from Lafayette County, 4th Mississippi Infantry Regiment. His wife stated he left home in 1862 and did not return until about Dec 1865. He also enlisted during 1864 in Co. C, 3rd Mississippi Cavalry Regiment, C.S.A. I am now a follower of your blog and hope to see much more of your work!

      Sam,
I am looking for information on Henry P. Zinn from Lafayette Co. I am trying to track down any Zinns that might have had a sister who was born in Chattanooga Tn. Does that ring a bell? Email me at Sabers8th@gmail.com.

      Thanks,
