  • Looking for links, info for First-hand accounts of Picketts charge

    Hi all,
This maybe the wrong place to post this (feel free to move) but I'm looking for books, links, diaries, mem that have first hand accounts of "Picketts charge" (NOT AARs/unit movements) of what the soldier saw. Ie: Ken Burns qoutes a reb LT as saying "home boys remember home is beyond those hills" or "sometimes a lingering pink mist filled the air" Im trying to put together a book on the assault to give an accurate description of the what it was like for the average soldier (fed and reb). Any info or direction would be great. Just not sure where to look!!
    Thanks
    Ronnie

My favorite series is the Time-Life books "Voices of the Civil War" series. There is a volume on Gettysburg with several diary entries on Pickett's Charge.

Not a lot about the charge but it is mentioned.

        Ronnie,

It's not a link, but Pickett's Charge: Eyewitness Accounts edited by Richard Rollins is full of accounts from participants on both sides.

        Good luck!
