Several years ago there was an excellent reference book done on the Civil War - Indian War US Army sack coat. I can't remember the title or author's name. Does anyone know the book I am thinking of?

I'm pretty sure you're referring to Patrick Brown's book, For Fatigue Purposes, the Army Sack Coat 1857-1872, (Watchdog Review: Warren, MI, 2003).
