  • Top 10 Books/References for Authentic Reenacting

Mods, Please feel free to move if this is not where it fits best...

If you had to pick the top 10 books/reference materials to assist with authentic reenacting, what would those 10 be? Considering all aspects- uniforms, weapons, accouterments, camp life, food, etc.... what would your list look like?

      That's interesting that you'd put Hardee's, Casey's and Gilham's on the list.

I'd have to put Si Klegg on that list as well. I know it's technically fiction, but all the soldier stuff he writes about isn't. A lot of good info, especially for western Federals, can be found between those pages.

Oh, yeah. Add the Columbia Rifles Research Compendium to that list of books.

Definitely do not forget to check out Bell Irwin Wiley's The Life of Johnny Reb and The Life of Billy Yank. Both are superb monographs.
