  • Image ID Help

I need help identifying an image of this Confederate soldier. One link describes the soldier as John R. Boyette of the 4th Kentucky Infantry, Co. E. Boyette was killed at Baton Rouge in '62. However, the original link no longer works, and further search on the name reveals a photo of a different looking person, out of uniform. I feel like I have seen a jacket like this before, but I can't quite put my finger on when and where I did. If this jacket is one that is consistent with those found early in the Kentucky Brigade, then perhaps it actually might be John Boyette. Any help would be appreciated!

      Dreick,

For whatever it's worth, Boyette is a very common name in Wilson Co NC and possibly in adjoining counties of Nash and Edgecombe.

      Best regards,
