    With supply lines sketchy many times, especially for confederates with the federals constantly destroying CS rails, I would have carried as much ammo as I could have in my haversack or cartridge box. I would have much rather carried more weight than run out of ammo in battle. I can def. see a lack of tins in confederate boxes because of a tin shortage towards the end of the war. I could also see this happening in the Western theater more so as supplies tended to be more lackluster than with the ANV.

      But it wasn't up to you, you would have carried what was issued.
