  • Want to make a great coat, looking for suggestions on good patterns

I am looking for suggestions on folks with either a good kit or a good pattern for a Federal great coat. My wife will be doing the work (better to have someone who knows what they are doing and not have it look like a drunk did the work if I did it myself.)

    Thanks

Both patterns and kits. His kits are awesome.

I concur with Mr. Pearson. No one has a better federal overcoat pattern on the market today. Just get the kit, then the hard part is done for you!

I put one of his overcoat kits together last winter and didn't have an issue. I don't think there is a better option. If only Mississippi was cold enough I could have a chance to use it more!

Concur with the Recommendation for the Charlie Kit...

A couple buddies and I 'thought' we were going to same a few bucks by using a 'free' pattern...by the time we bought the woold for the overcoat, the flannel + burlap + drill for the lining, the buttons...etc., we came within $10-20 per coat of what it would have cost for the the pre-cut kit...oh, and that doesn't include the untold frustrations we had in trying to make the 'other' pattern work.

His overcoat kit really is a BARGAIN.
