  • Looking for recipe for "soldiers biscuits?"

I was given a recipe years ago from a pard that had a recipe from a period cookbook for these soft biscuits called "soldiers biscuits" i believe. Not sure of anything else, i lost the recipe a while ago and was hoping someone maybe knew? They were soft, and had cheese in them...

You might want to try this:

Scott's Military Dictionary has an entire section devoted to cooking and recipes. It's available from Google Books. Just bring up the the book and search on "cooking". The recipes will show up.

I didn't see a specific recipe for biscuits, but I saw plenty of references to adding flour to things and frying/baking them. I don't know if your biscuits are just bread, or they have something else in them. But take a look at the recipes.

IMO, some look pretty good, and some look pretty scary.

For example: Lemonade: Cut 3 lemons into small slices. Add half a pound of sugar. Bruise the ingredients, and add a gallon of water.

That's one of the non-scary ones.
