  • CS Cartridge Label- Please Help!

    Gentlemen,

Forgive me for asking what's been asked before, but I'm finding it exceedingly difficult to find exactly what I need, even using the search engine, old threads (many dead links), and Google. I need a downloadable, printable, CS Cartridge label. And I'm kind of in a rush to find them! I've scoured everything and have come up short (over an hour searching now).

Of course, it's not beyond possibility that it's right under my nose, and I sincerely apologize if that's the case. But if anyone could oblige me with a downloadable, printable, CS Cartridge label that would be very beneficial.

There are a few on the first page. Search function always is a great starting point. Good luck.

Thanks for this. I already utilized the search function and poured over this exact article. There are dead links, and one downloadable thumbnail that is not useable for what I need. I was able to google search and found something that will work, but isn't the most efficient method. I hope to find something better next time!

You'll probably get better results searching the terms "arsenal pack labels".

Anyway, here are a couple to get you started. If you use the search times I listed, you'll find many more.

Probably not the immediate solution that you need but, you could get a copy of "Percussion Ammunition Packets, Union, Confederate and European 1845 - 1888" by Malloy, Thomas, White. ISBN -1-57747-093-1. Published by Thomas Publications, Gettysburg PA.
I got mine at the NHS bookstore in Gettysburg.
The book contains a wealth of information showing cartridges, wrappers and labels from virtually all of the arsenals. It also gives a visual impression of the texture and wrappings of the cartridges.
My personal favorite is the Eley tin of .36 cartridges for the Colt's Navy.
