  • Grey US Issue Blankets?

I appologize if I'm posting this in the wrong section but I had a question about the Grey US blankets. From using the search function I have discerned that these were a pre-war issue item that was also issued early in the war.

But my question is, how long would these blankets have been used? Would they have been issued later in the war or would the tan blankets that we see so often in the hobby have taken over? Is this blanket just an early war item?

    Thanks for the replies,

    Re: Grey US Issue Blankets?

I think it is worth linking in these threads when it comes to blanket reproductions:

As you will see, there are a number of blanket reproductions out there. Some reproduce a pre-war blanket (County Cloth and the NHS blankets, neither of which is available anymore, I think). Others are intended to be wartime examples (Woodburn, Wisconsin Vets' Museum).

I can't provide a direct answer to your question, but I have a hunch that it is more complicated than "Gray -v- Tan". Ain't that always the way!
