  • looking for a confederate canteen article

Ok need some help I am looking for an article or write up of canteens used by Confederates. A good overview needed not specific to Federal canteens in use by Confederate forces but a good over view tin, leather, wooden, etc.. focused on western theater however a good generic article will do..

The Unfinished Fight Volume I: Essays on Confederate Material Culture - Craig Barry - "A Few Thoughts on Confederate Canteens and US Captured Canteens", pp. 105-114.

Also, excellent examples of CS canteens throughout either edition of Sylvia & O'Donnell's Civil War Canteens.

Pvt. Nathaniel C. Deane (age 16, Co D 21st Mass. Inf.) on the death of his friend Pvt. John D. Reynolds, May 31, 1864.
