I have a couple of simple questions regarding rations.

    1. How often were federal camp rations issued? More specifically candles and soap?

    2. Vinegar was issued as part of the camp ration per company. What was it used for?

    Thanks,

I highly recommend folks read this paper when it comes to answering questions regarding how soldiers (and civilians) were fed during this era.
