  • How Accurate Are Pedersoli M1816 Barrel Bands?

I understand that the Pedersoli 1816 Musket is a derivation/copy of their M1777 Charleville, no doubt done to reduce tooling costs.

I am wondering how accurate a reproduction the barrel bands are on their 1816. If one were to get a correct Dunlap 1816 stock, would the Pedersoli 1816 barrel bands work?

In short, how close are Pedersoli 1816 barrel bands to originals?

    Thanks,
    Steve

This is an old thread, but ...
As to your question, my answer would be - I doubt it.
While close to the shape, the Pedersoli M1816 bands are considerably beefier/thicker than originals, like the rest of the furniture pieces. Just like the barrel is 1/2-in too short and the bayonet lug is in the wrong place for an original bayonet.
