  • Source for Alabama officer jacket

Will be doing a 2nd lt in the 5th Alabama battalion Calhoun sharpshooters, does anyone have a source for what pattern that might would have worn ? More specific, at the battle of Gettysburg?

What I would personally do is search through the 1860 census records of on of the LTs of the original unit (I pay for and use Fold3), find out how much he was worth, and use that as a guidelines to what they would've worn as an officer. Combine this with how late the war is / how expensive your officer's uniform would be and go from there. Just my two cents worth. Good luck on your search.
