These forum tools are here for everyone and are often easier than rehasing questions like this that have been asked and answered again and AGAIN and AGAIN.
Better still, try any one of the dozens of books that cover soldier's food.
Yes, the Camp of Instruction Forum is for basic questions related to authentic/campaigner/hardcore reenacting. However, that does not mean it is for basic questions for general reenacting.
