Authentic Gum Blanket

Can anybody tell me what to look for, when shopping for an authentic gum blanket? Most of the ones I've found are black on both sides. That seems wrong too me, is that correct? I've only seen pictures of black rubber and an off-white/ natural color on the other side in books. I've never seen a black and black, however I'm no expert.
