Do any of you know of good campaigner style units in the state of NY?

Can you narrow down the region? NY is kind of a big state. I wouldn't want to recommend a unit near Rockland to find out you're looking for one in Buffalo.

Here are some local NY and NE region units to look up on the internet (this is not an all inclusive list, so no offense to anyone):

Potomac Legion - Umbrella organization for authentic groups
      Columbia Rifles
      Liberty Rifles
      Chesapeake Volunteer Guard
      Jared Nichols

      Liberty Rifles
      - The French Mess

I know where you're at, a buddy of mine from my Army Reserve unit is from Mt. Kisco. Check out the CVG as was mentioned before, they're a dual impression unit and their company C is in the area. The 69th NY is also on the progressive side but not exactly hardcore campaigners.

150th NY is out of Poughkeepsie (North of Mt. Kisco)...The core of our unit is composed of fellas in the campaigner end...(events such as Bummers etc.)...Field rations, dogs or no shelter etc...We are a mid-late war unit, see our website www.150thnewyork.org, give Mike Peetsor me a shout if you have any questions.

I live in Cooperstown but don't mind the drive to drill. Utica, Albany, Mohawk Valley. When I commit, I will be there.

There's also a group on Facebook (If you're on that site) called "New York Independent Campaigner Battalion", with some good folks on it- if that's your bag.
