The Governor Guards is a campaigner/progressive mess that is a member unit of the Southeast Coalition of Authentic Re-enactor’s (SCAR). The mess was formed to gather likeminded individuals from SC to depict the lives of common soldiers and civilians during the War Between the States. We always endeavor to improve ourselves and others through the research of this amazing period in our nation’s history. Effective today I have relinquished command of the Governor Guards to my very capable friend Patrick Ferringer.

As one of the founding members of the Governor Guards it has been an honor to have served as mess captain for the past three years. Perhaps after life slows down a little I will once again be in the leadership position. But as for now, I stand relieved.

Thank you, Tyler! I am proud to lead the mess and continue our progressive role in the hobby. We look forward to continuing as a core member of SCAR, participating in outreach events to those interested in the authentic side of the hobby, and actively supporting the authentic community. We have greats things in store for the next few years and look forward to taking the field with everyone!
