Looking for a unit in Naples, Florida

I am looking to join a progressive federal infantry unit from Naples, or southwest Florida. I know about the 47th and 48th NY regiments, but they are based several hours from my house, so they don't really work well. I'd strongly prefer a unit that only portrays a federal unit, rather than both federal and confederate regiments. If you don't know of any u its in my area, if you know of any events in my area, that would also help. I've been looking way to long for a unit, and I'm ready to join very soon.

Ben, if you are looking for a good group I would highly encourage contacting the 48th. If you plan to attend C/P/H events then you are going to have to take a road trip anyway so having a unit near you is irrelevant. That's just my humble opinion.

I agree with Tyler, contact Joe Blunt at: mudcatsgt@earthlink.net. He commands the 48th New York in Florida. Another group to look into is the 115th New York in the Miami/Dade area. I don't have a current contact for them, but they usually work closely with the 48th.

There are a couple of federal reenactors out the the Tampa area.

I know that's not super close, but it's something to work with.

Tyler and James are correct, I feel. Joe Blunt and the 48th NY are the unit to talk to.
