Authentically Minded Units in California

Good Morning!

I am currently in the San Francisco Bay Area for school. Are there any progressive/authentically minded units in this part of California, or the state for that matter? I have done mainstream for a while, but am looking to do more than play dress up and go camping on the weekends. If anyone knows of such a group, please PM me.
