The Debonair Society of Coffee Coolers, Brewers, and Debaters
    Organization: Mess
Location: Georgia, Alabama, and North Florida
    Impressions: Western Theater US Infantry

The members of the Debonair Society of Coffee Coolers, Brewers, and Debaters (known as “The Coffee Coolers” for short) come from a variety of backgrounds. We are Living Historians with a campaigner mindset who portray the common soldier of the Western Union Armies in order to gain a better understanding of the American Civil War, the experience of the average soldier, life in the field, and to enjoy the camaraderie of our members. Everyone within the Mess has an equal say on everything pertaining to the unit. If rank is needed for an event we rotate it among our members.

We believe in doing things as correctly as possible and are constantly striving to improve authenticity whether that means improving uniforms or equipment, practicing drill, or researching. We believe in maintaining first person throughout our time together and go to authentic events for campaigners. The two most crucial rules we live by are to have fun, as there would be no reason to do this otherwise; and to do things right, as there is no point in doing them another way.

The Coffee Coolers are a very close-knit and laid back unit, yet we are always more than happy to talk with anyone wishing to join our ranks. Our primary impression is of Western Federal Infantry. If you think the Coffee Coolers would be a good fit for you and you have an interest in campaigning with us please contact us!
