  • Chasseurs de Chalmette in the Trans-Miss

As a co-founder of the Chasseurs de Chalmette, and living in the St. Louis area, I am here to recruit for the CdC among those who live within the Trans-Mississippi. So, if you reside in St. Louis, Kansas City, Memphis, Little Rock, etc., this post is for you.

With a new calander year brings a new year for living history. If you are new, riding the fence on what organization to join, or just looking for an organization whose philosophy is to go above and beyond standard event guidelines for the sake of authenticity, then please consider the Chasseurs de Chalmette

The Chasseurs de Chalmette is a mess, with members across the western, central and southern parts of the United States, whose sole purpose is to portray as authentically as possible Confederate soldiers from the State of Louisiana. Whether it's the 3rd Louisiana at the Battle of Wilson's Creek, or the 10th Louisiana fighting within the Army of Northern Virginia, the Chasseurs de Chalmette is 100% Louisiana all the time.

For this coming year, the Chasseurs de Chalmette will be making a push for the event at Pickett's Mill as members of the 14th Louisiana Battalion. As a unit who is relied upon to skirmish with the enemy, it's important that the Trans-Mississippi company of the Chasseurs de Chalmette begin the process of coming together to perfect our skirmish drill, etc.

For the moment, the Chasseurs de Chalmette does not have a website. However, you can contact me directly for more information on joining: nbclark78@gmail.com

    Merci, et a bientot
