  • Saddles Without Mortises?

Any of you with saddles that don't have mortises for luggage straps, how do you attach your ground cloth, blanket roll, etc?
I have a mac tree without them, and am unsure about how to proceed.
    Thank you in advance,

    HI Greg,

Very odd for a Mac to not have the mortices. That's more of a question that we see on civy saddles. Does it have the small brackets screwed in? If not, that would be an option. Also you could mount iron rings using period staples..

I came across this one accidentally. I have seen a few period macs without them in Ken's book.
If I get brave enough, I may try drilling and rasping them myself. I like your ideas better!
      Thank you,
