  • Siege Artillery School, Ft. Moultrie SC Sept 19th , 09

I have secured permission for a one day "Siege Artillery School" at For Moultrie on September 19th, 2009.

We will begin with a class by Ranger Jeff Jones and then form detachments for the practical exercise. Time 0900-1700.

There is no need to bring accouterments , weapons or camping equipment. Canteen and haversack is optional. This is not an event or LH, but if we encounter visitors we will interact.

We will dress out, so the uniform will be Confederate, circa mid 1863 or Militia.

This is room for 15 soldiers. No registration fee, contact me at:

    a lucky few redlegs!
    Shame I will miss this.:cry_smile

We're going to get a few of us "instructor qualified" and offer at least three more classes in 2010, in preparation for January-April, 2011. Since it's Saturday only, you could bring the family down to see Charleston for the weekend and at the same time get some good knowledge on Siege Artillery.

I'd be interested for sure if I lived closer. Hope those of you fortunate enough to go have a real blast!

We have eight artillerymen so far, could use another 8. Will accept a couple of overbooks for no-shows.

Moderators please delete this entire thread as soon as possible. This event has been moved to Fort McAllister, Georgia for September 5th.
