    Re: Paging Mark Pflum

Ron, this time of year Mark may be very busy pressing cider.

      Ron,
Contact me via e-mail or PM and I'll see if I have an e-mail addy that might work.

        HERE! First Sergeant!

        Howdy, Ron!

Whether or not I'm "in touch" with myself is a rather perplexing question, but I have sent you a PM as requested anyway.

And yes, Charles, the cheeses are stacking nicely upon the racks. I only wish I could get my grinder around a few hundred bushels of nice Virginia Crab apples. In a few weeks there'd be Heaven to share and Hell to pay afterwards! :wink_smil

Sadly, the cider runs at but a trickle of what once so mightily flowed in days of yore . . .

On a happier note: I had a nice crop of Northern Spy this year. I weep for those whose only experience with apples comes from the corner supermarket. They know nothing of the endless varieties of flavor and texture they are missing!

Your friendly, neighborhood, fourth-generation cider miller,

That is sad. I recall my first event at the Haycreek Fall Festival at Johanna's Furnace. I was with the 88th PVI then. Always looked forward to the flapjack and sausage breakfast and a full cup of cider throughout the day! Thanks again for that by the way :)
