  • Lightning at the Furnace: A Chancellorsville Living History

HOSTED BY THE DELAWARE RIVER BLUES & THE NATIONAL PARK SERVICE

Two Federal companies and a detachment of Berdan’s Sharpshooters will be recreating the movements of portions of the Third Corps on the anniversary dates and on the actual ground of the actions being followed. The movements of this living history will occur in “real time”, meaning there will be no established camps and movements will occur at various times throughout the day and into the night. We will be following in the exact footsteps of the Third Corps men that snagged on to Jackson’s tail on Saturday, 2 May 1863.

    PORTRAYALS:

    FRIDAY EVENING TO SUNDAY MORNING:

    20th Indiana Infantry
    5th Michigan Infantry

    SUNDAY:

    7th New Jersey Infantry
123rd New York Infantry(We know, 12th Corps, but we had to do it to make the Sunday demos work)

    COMMAND:

    Overall Federal Commander: Will Eichler
20th IN/7th IN Co.: Stephen Pavey
5th MI/123rd NY Co.: Scott Cummings
    Sharpshooters: Brian White

    REGISTRATION:

Fee is $57. This includes rations in appropriate quantities. However, all $57 will be donated to the Central Virginia Battlefield Trust and earmarked for future Chancellorsville preservation efforts.

    AUTHENTICITY STANDARDS:

Each company has drafted individual authenticity standards. In order to maintain the highest standards, this is an “invitation-only” event. Apply to the relevant company commander for an invitation. He will then provide you with registration instructions.

MORE INFORMATION CAN BE FOUND HERE:

    FOLLOW US ON FACEBOOK
Or contact any of the company commanders.

If you are unable to attend, we would still like to encourage you to contribute to the fundraiser.
    Thank you!

"The OTB is made up of the dregs of humanity, the malcontents, the bit*#ers and moaners, the truth tellers, the rebellious, etc. In other words, the ones that make good soldiers when the firing starts or the marching gets tough. The $&#*$& is run by parade ground, paper collar soldiers, the ones that pee on themselves when a car backfires and would be better fit for counting beans and puffying up their own egos and kissing each others @$(#*$*..."
