  • Impression Standards for “The Fight For Dixie’s Land”



    The impression for C.S forces will be Infantry, Cavalry, and Miltia detachments of the 2nd Florida.


    Impression Guidelines are as follows:

    Clothing

    - Deep south garments
    - Basic 6-8 button shell jackets and trousers in Jean
    - Charleston Depot jackets and trousers
    - Civilian garments, workmen or farmers clothing. Overshirts, overalls exc.
    - C.S or civilian shirts & drawers

    Accoutrements

    - Painted cloth belts, cap pouches, cartirdge boxes.
    - Captured U.S accouterments
    - Accouterments appropriate for the weopon you are carrying

    Haversacks & Canteens

    - Plain white issue haversacks
    - Tin drum canteens & captured federal canteens

    Knapsacks

    - Kibbler packs & captured U.S double bags

    Blankets

    - C.S Issue
    - Civilian blankets & coverlets

    Headwear

    - Period correct slouch hats
    - Deep south issue jean & EAC kepis
    - English import hats are highly encouraged

    Footwear

    - Period correct footwear
    - Brogans
    - Issue shoes
    - Civilian boots are accepted

    Weapons

    - Long arms in cal 54,58,69, and 72
    - 2- band muskets
    - Shotguns
    - Hall, Maynard, and Gallagher carbines
    - Other firearms require approval

    Yellow Calvary trim is not acceptable on any garment. Unless it is a period correct replication of an officers

    The impression for U.S forces will be Eastern Federal. Bartons NY brigade & attachments.

    Headgear

    - Issue forage Caps either the Type 1 or 2 NO KEPIS OR SLOUCHS OR HARDEES OR COMMERICAL CAPS

    Jackets

    - Four button fatigue blouses Lined or unlined NCOs are to have stripes on their coats.

    Trousers

    - Sky blue wool kersey trousers of any contractor before 1865
    - NO DARK BLUE TROUSERS ON THE RANK AND FILE
    - NCOs will be encouraged to have the appropriate width stripe on the trousers (1/2" for corporals, 1 1/2" for sgts)

    Shirts

    - Federal Issue Shirt or Contractor Shirt -Civilian shirts of document origin

    Socks & Drawers

    - Federal Issue Contractor drawers
    - USSC
    - Civilian Socks
    - Federal issue Contract variants

    Shoes

    - Civilian Shoes
    - Federal Issue
    - Civilian low quarters
    - Boots accepted but frowned upon

    Weapons

    - P53 British 3 banded Enfield
    - '61 Springfield’s
    - '63 Springfield's
    - '55 Springfield

    NO SMOOTHBORES i.e. 1816s,1840s, 1842s etc No repeaters

    Accoutrements

    - Federal Issue cap boxes, belts, and cartridge boxes
    BOX PLATES ARE HIGHLY ENCOURAGED

    Knapsacks

    - Double bag in either early/or late war styles are accepted Bedrolls are allowed but we highly discourage them

    Haversacks & Canteens

    - Federal tarred styles only
    - m58 Smoothside
    - '62 bulls eye

    Blankets

    - Federal issue in tan/brown
    - Federal issue in gray -non descript brown or gray blankets  

    Greatcoats - Federal issue sky blue only accepted enlisted great coats

    Shelter Halves....Appropriate of 2-3 panel construction.

    Impression Standards will be enforced.
