What happened to Die Neuner? Seems to have disappeared

“As we are closing in on the date for “Die Neuner,” the team here at THE has been dealing with a number of issues. After long deliberation, we have decided that the best course of action is to cancel the event for now.
COVID has raised a great many challenges to this event. We hoped that with vaccines in play and cases diminishing, some of these would be resolved.
The impression for the 9th Ohio called for several specialty items. However, with some materials being unavailable during the pandemic, we feel we have had to make too many compromises to the impression.
This event was always planned on the premise that the messes of German reenactors could attend. They have been invaluable in research on PER drill and the 9th Ohio. With European travel bans remaining in place, these groups will be unable to attend.
With these issues and several staffing issues for the event that have come up, we have decided to cancel the event rather than offer an event that we do not feel is up to our standards. We apologize to everyone who has been so supportive of us.
We will be offering full refunds to anyone who would like one. Please let me know by July 1 if you'd prefer a refund. Otherwise, all remaining registration fees will be donated to the Carnifex Ferry Battlefield for preservation.”
