    8TH MISSOURI: ZOUAVES IN CHATTANOOGA 1863
    July 16-18, 2021

    HOSTED BY:
    Tyler Suttle, Zach Brewer and Lee White with the Chickamauga & Chattanooga National Military Park are hosting;

    LOCATION: Point Park on Lookout Mountain Battlefield.

    REASON: This event idea was compose by myself and Zach Brewer, and was brought to Lee White, the park ranger and historian from myself, focusing on two but mainly one zouave regiment that's barely discussed. Lee liked the idea and has agreed to be the forerunner for our event. This event will mainly focusing on the 8th Missouri Zouave Infantry aka "American Zouaves" and the 33rd New Jersey Zouave. These are the only two recorded zouves in the western theater at Chattanooga.

    The main reason we are pushing for this is because they are rarely talked about or mentioned. Yet, units like the 8th Missouri was hardcore combat veterans who had been fighting since before Belmont and Fort Donelson.

    If this is a event you are interested in, there will be guidelines, registration and a fee of $25. All fees will be used partially used for rations and the rest to preservation for the park.
