Too bad the weather won't be as good as this weekends has been... yet... highs in the 81-84 range won't be bad.

Let's hope it continues to stay on the cool side. :)

Sounds like a great one is in store for you boys. If I wasn't moving back to college that weekend, I'd love to go. Have fun and come back with some great stories boys!

Re: Chickamauga Living History next weekend

This weekends event at Chickamauga was great. The weather was amazing. Who would have thought it can be cool in August in Georgia. This made our 12 miles worth of marching over the National Park much easier. Our company under the leadership of Capt. Joslyn performed amazingly.

My hat is off to Nate Petersburg for once again putting together another outstanding event. How anyone has the time to plan more than one event per year I don't know but Nate has managed to pull it off with South Union and Chickamauga this year.

And of course none of this would have been possible with out the support of the Park and especially Jim Ogden.

I was down that way Sunday with the wife just touring the place and forgot you boys were having a program...I did pass by the Snodgrass place when it looked as though y'all were winding down... but the weather could not have been more pleasant all weekend....

Thanks to Nate, Rick, Tripp, Duffer and all the nco's !

Scott Persons and myself made the trip from St Louis, and boy did we have a great time. Taking the back trails and avoiding the pavement as much as possible really saved my old legs, thanks.

And Nate reading a bit of history before each demo was awesome. He'd tell us what the confederate regt. did on that particular spot, and then we'd try to replicate it, within reason of course. Absolutely fantastic !

Also, thanks to Lisa Pace (I think I have her name correct) for providing a wonderful treat of lemonade and watermelon from time to time. Lisa's effort goes beyond the call of duty.

              sincerely,
