Here is a website from the NPS on the Mine Run campaign. The event above will try to depict the action on the Payne Farm on November 27th, 1863. Locations #1, #2 and #3 on the map will be seen by Federal participants at the event.

    Questions, let me know.

Dusty - will this event be on the original battlefield? Any tentative plans for tours of the adjacent lands in private hands? Am thinking of the 2nd Corps positions along Mine Run, unfinished railroad, etc. Might aide in raising awareness and funds to preserve what we can. Have not walked the area in several years so do not know the mindset of the landowners, though it was very friendly before (a few properties are still in the family after 140 years).

      Good cause!!

Doug, the event will take place on the property where the November 27th action took place. Little has changed, terrain wise at the site.

Haven't talked to any land owners other than CWPT.

It'd be great if this one gets a 2005 events folder on this forum.

Thanks Dusty - that property is fabulous...heck the whole area is fabulous. But it won't belong before development creeps out that way.

Never to early to start and event folder for a worthwhile cause.

            Saylor's Creek needs one too - April 15-17, 2005.

Paul wants to wait until January to set up the 2005 event folders.
