• Desiccated Potatoes for Preservation

Taste Testers,

For those of you who received, prepared, and consumed the desiccated potatoes, take a moment to let me know what you thought of them. We've been issuing them in cooked form at a number of events over the years, but not everyone has had an opportunity to eat them.

They were a true bargain at a buck-a-bag.

Thanks,
Charles Heath

Charles,
I did not get the chance to try the Desiccated Potatoes but I sure was glad for the Sausage and Bread you talked us in to .The bread was getting ready to float away Saturday morning but was saved at the last minute by a quick thinking Keydet.
Where did yall pick up the sausage?

Hey Charles,
Duff boiled up those potatoes and they tasted like...potatoes!! I can see how a little doctoring and spicing would make for a good meal. I did appreciate those rations and have put them in my kit to be used at another event! Great idea!

Nick,

Ask Grumpy Dave about his source for that donated sausage. He understands the Keystone State secret sausage handshake. Several people donated goods for the premium pile, and it was nice to give folks a little something for their donation. I gotta tell you Ley Watson's "boot drive" was fun to watch. Must be some fireman in that Amherst County gene pool somewhere.

Grumpy's email is grumpydave58@comcast.net

If you can find your blue suit, come on up to the COI in April. Grumpy is in charge of bringing more rain. ;)
